Operation CAP 500: Turning a simple gesture into a life-changing opportunity. Behind every child selling peanuts to raise money for their education lies extraordinary potential just waiting to blossom. Lionel’s story — from the streets of Douala to the school benches, and now into the world of work — is living proof of this: when you reach out to a child, they can go a long way.

For the 2026 school year, the SOLIDARITY association is working to provide this same inspiration. We are taking action on two specific fronts:

- 500 complete school kits to ensure a safe return to school for 500 children and put a smile back on their faces.

- 100 table-benches made locally to provide them with a decent place in the classroom.

To ensure that every donation reaches the child who needs it most, our process is based on three key principles:

-On-the-ground identification: Joint surveys carried out with headteachers of state and community schools, neighbourhood leaders and partner care homes in Douala and Yaoundé.

- Vulnerability criteria: Absolute priority is given to orphans, children from single-parent or low-income families, and pupils at imminent risk of dropping out of school.

- Transparency & Monitoring: Verification by our volunteers, registration in a certified register and monitoring of beneficiaries’ academic results throughout the year.
